Gregory Alan Isakov plays Cooper Creek Square on Friday evening
WINTER PARK – Named one of the top 10 rising stars in Colorado by the Denver Post, singer/songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov will be back in Winter Park this Friday at Music on The Mall at Cooper Creek Square from 5-7 p.m. for a free show.
Isakov “makes quietly lush, deeply vibrant music more rooted in the starry-night sky than any terrestrial locale,” according to Paste Magazine and has been described by Boulder Weekly, “Strong, subtle… a lyrical genius.”
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and raised in Philadelphia, Isakov moved to Colorado at the end of the last decade. His latest album, “Northern Hemisphere,” was named as one of the top ten albums of the year by roots music authority No Depression. Named 2008’s Best Acoustic/Folk Artist by the Denver Westword (Audience Award) and named by the Denver Westword as the 2007 Best Singer/Songwriter (Critics Award), Isakov is also the 2007 winner of the Telluride Troubador Songwriting Competition.
