Happened in Grand: Dumpster poaching thwarts town cleanup

A town cleanup day in Hot Sulphur Springs turned sour last week after dumpsters filled up the day before the event was due to take place. Dumpsters for the 2014 Spring Town Cleanup Day, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, were full by the event’s 10 a.m. kickoff on May 3. Residents expecting to discard trash were turned away. Chamber of Commerce President Yvonne Knox said she has lodged a complaint with the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and is scheduling a board meeting to look at rescheduling the event. “We will be trying to make it right with the people in the town of Hot Sulphur Springs,” Knox said.
