In honor of National Trails Day, the Headwaters Trails Alliance announces Trails Night to be held Thursday, May 30 at the HTA office located at the Fraser Outdoor Activity Center, 120 Zerex Street in Fraser. The event begins at 5 p.m., and anyone who uses trails is encouraged to attend.

Trails Night is a gathering of local trails groups and land management agencies to present coming trails projects and other updates about local trails, as well as offering a chance for everyone to meet the people who oversee trail work in Grand County. This is a great opportunity for trails enthusiasts to get involved in local trails. Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be available thanks to our generous sponsors, but an RSVP is required. National Trails Day is celebrated nationwide on the first Saturday of June each year. This year, Headwaters Trails Alliance, along with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado is organizing a volunteer workday project for this special day. This year’s chosen project is to repair and improve the Givelo Trail, which connects the Town of Fraser to the St. Louis Creek Trail System. Volunteers will enjoy free breakfast, lunch and after-work appreciation gathering as well as knowing that you invested your time in improving the local trail system.
