Property owners that lost structures in the East Troublesome Fire are able to claim a refund from the State of Colorado for sales tax associated with rebuilding the lost structures. Information on this program is available directly through the State website at Tax.Colorado.Gov/rebuilding-after-a-declared-wildfire-disaster-FAQs.

The required form (DR 0992) will need to be completed and submitted to the Grand County Building Division by emailing it to building@co.grand.co.us.

Alternatively, the completed form can be mailed to: Grand County Building Division, P.O. Box 238, Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado, 80451.

The completed form will be verified by the building division for ownership at the time of the fire and for accuracy of the building permit information. A second form (DR 0993) will be completed and signed by Grand County and sent back to the applicant for submittal to the State.
