Hickenlooper names GOPs, Dems to transition team
DENVER (AP) – Gov.-elect John Hickenlooper has named 50 people to be co-chairs of his transition team.
They include a number of prominent Republicans, including former Gov. Bill Owens and former congressman Bob Schaffer of the state Board of Education, and Democrats Al Yates, former president of Colorado State University, and Pueblo County District Attorney Bill Thiebaut.
Hickenlooper says he expects to have about 500 people from across the state on the team and hold 11 meetings by Nov. 20.
Hickenlooper says he wants recommendations from them for his Cabinet and he says he doesn’t expect to appoint them until January before he takes office.
