WINTER PARK – Adolfs Event Center & Tavern is open for business under new Owners Gigi and Frank Dominguez. The couple has brought Adolfs back to Old Town Winter Park after its closure during the summer of 2012. The newly updated tavern is open for aprs ski at 3 p.m. and stays open until around 7 p.m. -unless they are putting on a special event like the Championship Game and Chili event they hosted during the game between Notre Dame and Alabama. The event center and tavern offers a distinctive location for special events, corporate parties, reunions, and weddings.”If you’re looking for a unique and historic location to have your next corporate get-together, come check it out, we have a great atmosphere,” says Gigi.House caterer, Sherry Kent of Showboat Catering and Drive by Pie, will cater events and provide food specials for the tavern. She will also make a special aprs ski dish for nights when there are not special events. Pies from the famous Drive by Pie will be available every night. The combined efforts of the new owners, landlord Jan Waldron, and a commercial enhancement grant from the Town of Winter Park have given Adolfs a fresh look but the historic character still exists. The landlord recently repainted the outside of the tavern, keeping the same color it was originally painted. And the grant was also used to improve the landscaping around the bar, install new lighting, and repaint the inside of the tavern. The new owners have also been working to replace the old patio, which will be open in the spring along with the backyard area, making the event center perfect for company retreats or workshops.”It definitely has a clean and fresh new look,” Gigi said. “But the bar still carries its old history.”The event center and tavern is located next to Alpine Sun Ski & Sport in the historic Adolfs building in Old Town Winter Par, 1008 Winter Park Drive. “Its a great place for people to stop by after skiing to catch up on the social scene or to watch a game on the big screen,” she said.Historic Adolfs was established in 1937, and many locals and visitors have fond memories and stories to tell about it.
