Hot Sulphur Springs Chamber Yvonne Knox
Yvonne Knox is the president and executive director of the Hot Sulphur Springs Chamber of Commerce. The chamber restarted in July 2012 and organized the first Town Clean Up day in October. It initially started as a group of friends who wanted the town to be better and to support the town board members, said Knox. The organization has grown into a four-level membership-based organization.
The Hot Sulphur Spring Chamber of Commerce receives about four calls a week and has a website, http://www.hsschamber.com. The most popular questions Knox receives each week: Are the hot springs open?
Knox plans to continue as the president and executive director for the next five years with a goal of having a sustainable board membership to support activities and to keep the town clean. She wants people who live here to enjoy it and take part in events such as Hot Sulphur Days.
Knox has lived in Hot Sulphur Springs since 1957. She has held positions in county government such as mayor and administrative assistant to the Board of Commissioners, a position which evolved into county manager. If you want to know anything about Grand County history, Knox knows it all and is friends with many of the pioneer families.
“What I like best about Hot Sulphur Springs is the people here,” she said.
This is the third story in a five-part series on Grand County Chamber executive directors.
