How is that Hope and Change working for you?
October 28, 2010
After detailed observations of businesses closed down and homes for sale or rent in the Granby area alone, it appears the Hope and Change has failed the center of Grand County. While I have spoken with several business owners, I’m not into the books of any businesses, but common sense will tell you that most, if not all businesses in the Granby area are floating below water and are trying to stay alive before going upside down.
I have had many friends and families just disappear, some in the middle of the night and some with a phone call saying goodbye, they will have to move back home with family.
All of this is not just an emotional statement by me, but backed up, by the 100 or so student numbers drop within the school district and the overwhelming vacancies in rental homes and the for sale signs on local businesses.
Regardless, if you agree with my following statements, take a moment to drive the streets of Granby and look at the number of closed or soon to be closed businesses, look at the number of homes, alone vacant or for rent in the downtown area of Granby.
This current administration, our federal leadership and our state leadership has had anywhere from dozens of years, down to two years to balance OUR budgets, manage the U.S. and state affairs and make sure all is well. The Obama administration and our current congressional and senatorial leadership has failed you and I miserably. They lied and rammed bills down the throats of all Americans, even when the numbers were highly opposed to their actions.
Taxes are on the rise and health insurance companies dropping policies. They have given GM, big banks and their friends millions of dollars, only for us to see Granby’s doors closing slowly and good people moving away.
If you or I worked as poorly as these folks have, we would be fired and fired without entitlements and pension plans. We can’t throw Obama out for another two years, but we can stop the theft of your grandchildren’s futures by voting on Nov. 2.
It’s time for real Change.
Vote Nov. 2, because Hope ain’t work’n and change stinks.
