Hunter Education Classes in Granby
Hunter education is required to hunt in Colorado for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1949. Since being required in 1970, the number of hunting-related accidents in Colorado has declined dramatically. Today, hunting is one of the safest participation sports in the state.
A basic hunter education course will be offered the weekend of March 23, 24, and 25 in Granby at the Community Center on 3rd and Jasper. Cost of the class is $10. Classroom sessions will be Friday, March 23 from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Anyone interested in this hunter education class should pre-register as space is limited.

Report: Snowmobile pinned man killed in Rollins Pass avalanche
The man who died in Grand County’s most recent fatal avalanche asphyxiated after being pinned by his snowmobile on Mt. Epworth outside Winter Park, according to the final report from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
