In Kremmling, your vote really counts
October 20, 2009
This election year we are deciding the makeup of the West Grand Board of Education for the next several years. Five of the seven board seats are up for election.
We have seven individuals who are willing to commit to this time consuming, often thankless opportunity The candidates for the four-year terms are: Brendan Gale, Susan Ritschard, Audrey Gasvoda, Tim Thomson and Christina Whitmer. The two-year term candidates are Brett Davidson and David Skinner.
All these citizens are well known in our community, so if you have a problem or solution, or just wonder what they think, talk to any of them and see what they have to say.
We owe a big “Thank You” to Gary Bumgarner, Dave Jones and Teri Tanton, who have served on the board and reached their term limits.
We are also being asked to approve a tax override to replace funds that will be lost when the current tax override expires.
The election this year is a mail-in ballot. The ballots should have arrived in your mailbox last week. It only takes a few moments of your time to mark your choices and get the ballot ready to mail back. It must be received by the clerk and recorder before Nov. 3. You even have the option of dropping it off at the local fire station on Election Day, if you forget to mail it in.
Whatever your decision or whoever you plan to vote for, please exercise your voting privilege and duty.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dean and Anita Schonlau and their family. They have been in Denver at St. Anthony’s and Porter Hospital with their son, Josh. He is in critical condition with liver failure. A fund has been set up at Credit Union of the Rockies for Josh Schonlau to help with medical expenses.
Happy 8th Birthday Tom Henderhan on the 25th.
