Interstate 70 west of Denver re-opened after crash on snow-covered stretch
May 11, 2011
Several traffic mishaps on I-70 in the mountains west of Denver shut down the highway this morning in both directions.
Eastbound lanes between Bakerville and Silver Plume were closed for about 45 minutes and the westbound lanes were closed for about 90 minutes by an injury crash and several other vehicles sliding off the highway in spots, said Trooper Nate Reid, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.
