Jeff Miller awarded Board Member of the Year, Kremmling Memorial Hospital
Jeff Miller, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Kremmling Memorial Hospital District, was named one of four winners of the Special District Association of Colorado’s 2016 Board Member of the Year Award.
The Special District Association of Colorado (SDA) presents this award annually to a special district board member who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to their district. This year the remarkable contributions of the nominees resulted in a four-way tie for the Board Member of the Year Award. The awards were presented at the SDA Annual Awards Luncheon as part of the SDA Annual Conference which was held September 21-23 in Keystone.
Miller served on the Board of Directors of the District for 14 years, nine of which as President or Vice President. Miller’s leadership on the Board has been a shining example of how all efforts of the Board are directed to ensuring the viability and growth of the District and its positive effect on the quality, accessibility, and coordination of healthcare in the region. Miller has been instrumental in the development of new facilities and service expansions to make healthcare accessible to more residents and visitors. This includes the acquisition of a family practice clinic and a rural health clinic, building a new critical access hospital on 100 percent donated land (the donation of which was a result of Miller’s negotiations), and opening a new rehabilitation office. Miller has also guided hospital initiatives that have improved organizational culture, increased quality of care, enhanced medical services, and advanced operational efficiencies. Moreover, he has cultivated partnerships and negotiated contracts that have led to the increased fiscal stability of the District. Miller has served as a strong ambassador for the hospital system and has led the District out of many difficult circumstances. Miller has been the backbone of the Board for over a decade, demonstrating his passion for the District and his dedication to the community in all that he does.
“Jeff is a very deserving winner of this award, and we are pleased for the opportunity to honor him and the extraordinary contributions he has made to his district,” said Ann Terry, SDA’s Executive Director.
