Jessica Rose: Grand County ought to have public transportation
To the Editor:
Some kind of bus service is badly needed in Grand County. Like Steamboat Springs, Summit County and Glenwood Springs, just maybe we can learn something from them how they operate their buses and who pays for all this, so that we can figure out something in Grand County and have buses running all the way from Kremmling to Winter Park.
Just look at all the elderly and disabled people who live here in Grand County. They need help getting around to doctor’s appointments and shopping or doing errands. Some may or may not have a car or they are unable to drive.
It makes me wonder after all these years why we cannot get some type of government-run bus service right here in Grand County. Maybe towns like Granby, Kremmling and Winter Park could split the costs to operate these buses. It would benefit and help every person who calls Grand County their home and meet some important needs.
