Jessica Rose – Health care bill gives consumers the upper hand
April 16, 2010
To the Editor:
It did not surprise me at all that the Republicans did not vote in favor of the health care reform bill. This reform will work for all of us. We do not know until we try something new if it will work. Talking with friends, most of us are afraid and scared to death of change, but change can be both good and bad.
Insurance companies have denied those with pre-existing conditions, and insurance companies have turned some people away with life-threatening conditions. This is just not right when it means life or death for that person, and now we have the upper hand when it comes to our own health insurance. The downside is that it can hurt small businesses.
