Judith (Judie) Ann Cross

Judie , the daughter of Rudolph Janezick (deceased) and Jean (O’Korn) Janezick, was born in West Allis, Wis. She is survived by her mother, her husband of 49 years, Ronald, three adult children – Holly (Cross) Gilbertson, Philip Cross, Charles Cross and two grandchildren Maxwell and Zoe Gilbertson.

Judie retired from the Jefferson County school system in 1996, and she and Ron moved to Grand Lake. They began winter vacations in Sunsites, Ariz., in 1998.

She had a wide range of interests but is best described as an artist whose canvas was life – hiking and skiing the mountains, making quilts, creating paintings and pottery, making crafts, playing games with her grandchildren, reading books, being with and loving so many dear friends. She was a precious person with a special dignity and grace, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Judie lost her battle against a rare brain cancer diagnosed six months ago.

Memorial services were held in Sunsites, Ariz., on May 13, 2010.
