Jury selection under way in Grand Junction slaying

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) – Jury selection is under way for a Grand Junction woman charged with fatally stabbing a man and trying to hire a hit man to kill two witnesses.

Twenty-year-old Amy Adamson is charged with first-degree murder and solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Attorneys began choosing a jury on Monday.

Prosecutors allege Adamson killed 20-year-old Ramon Sandoval in January because she thought he was flirting with her girlfriend.

She is accused of trying to hire a hit man after she was arrested on the murder charge.

Adamson has denied wrongdoing.
