Kremmling art gallery opens May 22
KREMMLING — The Gore Range Artisans Group, LCA, will hold the grand opening of its new gallery on Thursday, May 22, in Kremmling.
The event will feature work from 15 local artists, including metal and clay sculpture, handmade jewelry, photography and paintings.
“Our mission is to let Grand County know art is alive and well in Kremmling,” said Lorna Babcock, the group’s secretary.
The new gallery, located at 110 W. Park Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The group will hold drawings for pieces of handcrafted art as well as live artisan demonstrations beginning at 2 p.m.
“We just want to share what we know,” Babcock said.
A group of Kremmling-based artists formed the Gore Range Artisans Group in 2013, with a vision to “breathe new life, inspiration and creativity into Grand County through art, artistic expression and co-operative efforts to support others in these endeavors,” according to the group’s website.
The group pooled its resources to renovate its new gallery, formerly Bob’s Western Motel.
Kremmling resident Gary Bumgarner gave the building to the group.
Babcock said the group hopes to further engage the community through events like open-air markets in the future.
