Kremmling Days are here again
Kremmling, CO Colorado
KREMMLING – The 2011 Kremmling Days Celebration is unfolding June 17, 18 and 19.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Lights, Camera, Kremmling Days.” There are new spectacles to enjoy at the Town Square Park; truly something for all ages.
EuroBungy will be providing the fun and thrills for the KidZone. In addition, Dr. Spin Art will be spinning paint for kids of all ages for a unique piece of artwork.
Enjoy a variety of live music sponsored by Grand Mountain Bank and Mountain Parks Electric, while sitting back enjoying fried catfish, twisted taters, grilled corn on the cob, fresh squeezed lemonade or limeade, funnel cakes and ice cold Pepsi products.
The music line up for the 2011 celebration begins Friday night with The Durango Drifters. Saturday’s sounds continue with foot stompin’ bluegrass by the Stanleytones and Honey Don’t. Be prepared to bring down the house with The New Classics Band featuring rock, blues and more from the sixties, seventies and eighties.
Kids of all ages can enjoy a very energetic weekend bouncing, sliding and competing with friends on various inflatable amusements. A movie in the park will highlight the evening on Friday night sponsored by the Jim Postal Family and Last Time ‘Round Thrift. Vendors will be filling the park with unique and fun crafts and toys for kids to enjoy. The Town of Kremmling and Everist Materials are proud sponsors of the KidZone.
Of course, the Kremmling Days staples will return with the Friday night Fireman’s BBQ Dinner and live music. On Saturday morning, start the day with the Kremmling Classic 5 Mile and 3 Mile fun run/walk, brought to you by Big Shooter Coffee, the Bureau of Land Management and the Climax Molybdenum a Freeport MacMoran Company. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. in the Town Square Park. The race begins at 8 a.m. Register online at http://www.active.com or call the Kremmling Area Chamber of Commerce.
The race will be followed by the Omni Real Estate Community Parade on Highway 40, where the featured guests are this year’s Grand Marshals and the Kremmling Days Royalty. The theme for the 2001 Omni Real Estate parade is “Blockbuster.” Wow the judges with your creativity to create a float that is movie-related. The parade will feature out of this world floats and a fly-over by the Experimental Aircraft Association of Grand County.
After the parade the Firemen hit the stage again with the kid’s games in the park, or you can enjoy a tour of the Heritage Park Museum.
Parade Registration forms can be picked up at the Kremmling Chamber and are due back by June 13; entry is $5. A Budweiser Beer Garden will quench the thirst of those 21 and over on Friday and Saturday.
If you’re into more extreme fun, do not miss your turn at the tee during Cliff Golf Contest on the Kremmling Cliffs. Registration is open in the Town Square between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and the competition starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday. In case of inclement weather on Saturday, the Golf Tournament will resume at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 19.
The Kremmling Cliff Golf Classic is a one of a kind element of Kremmling Days with some unique targets near the Muddy Creek provided by Renegade Towing, The Car Wash, Northwest Ranch Supply, Mountain Parks Electric, Pole Creek Golf Course, Red Mountain PV Park, Grand Elk Golf Course, Grand County Mortuary and Dex One. Come take a swing.
If that excitement is not enough, you can take dad and granddad to the Redneck Mud Shuffle on Sunday, June 19, at the Middle Park Fairgrounds beginning at 10 a.m., June 19. Call 970-531- for race information.
Last but not least, a special church service in the Town Square Park will cap off the weekend’s activities beginning at 10 a.m.
Kremmling Days is presented in part by the Grand County Colorado Tourism Board and is made possible by the many sponsors and volunteers who donate their money, in-kind services or time to the event. Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help man various elements of the event. Call the Chamber at 970-724-3472 to sign up or attend the weekly Kremmling Days planning meetings. For Race, Golf, Vendor and Parade registration forms visit the Chamber’s website at http://www.kremmlingchamber.com/events.
