Kremmling Days to be ‘Boat load of fun’

The Grand Mountain Bank Kremmling Days Celebration is June 18-20, with the theme for this year’s celebration: “A Boat Load of Fun.” The event is set to showcase new attractions in the Town Square Park, such as Airnastics Amusements providing the fun and thrills for the KidZone, sponsered by the Town of Kremmling, Bear Mountain Ranch and Grand Fence. Kids-of-all-ages can enjoy an energetic weekend bouncing, sliding and competing with friends on various inflatable activities. Dr. Spin Art will be spinning paint for kids of all ages for a unique piece of artwork, Grand Mountain Bank and Mountain Parks Electric are sponsering a day’s roster of music and Philly cheese steak sandwiches, grilled corn on the cob, fresh squeezed lemonade or limeade, funnel cakes and ice cold Pepsi products will be available. The music line-up for the 2010 celebration – back by popular demand – is Power Trucker, Halden Woffard and the Hi-Beams and Grand county artists Washboard Annie and the Mike Music Band. A first-ever Kremmling Days Guitar Hero Contest is planned, and more entertainment includes Wayne Francis & Wingnut dishing out family comedy and mountain music, all the while vendors fill the park with crafts and toys for kids to enjoy. And for the adults, a Budweiser Beer Garden will quench thirsts on Friday and Saturday, sponsered by Xcel Energy and the Trash Company.Friday• The Kremmling-Days staples will return with the Friday night Fireman’s Barbecue Dinner and live music. Saturday• On Saturday morning, the Kremmling Classic 5 Mile and 3 Mile fun run/walk takes place, brought to participants by Big Shooter Coffee, the Bureau of Land Management and the Climax Molybdenum Mine/Mill. Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. in the Town Square Park, with race time at 8 a.m. Register online at http://www.active.com or call the Kremmling Area Chamber of Commerce 970-724-3472. • The race is followed by the Omni Real Estate Community “Boat” Parade down Highway 40, where the featured guests are this year’s Grand Marshals. Parade Registration forms can be picked up at the Kremmling Chamber and are due back by June 12; entry is $5. By a popular vote of their teachers, this years Kremmling Days Royalty is queen Melissa Kraker and attendants Brooke Cecil and Erin Beason. The parade will feature floats and a fly-over by the Experimental Aircraft Association of Grand County.• After the parade, firemen hit the stage again with the kid’s games in the park, or attendees can enjoy a tour of the Heritage Park Museum. • Tee-off for the Kum & Go Cliff Golf Contest on the Kremmling Cliffs, starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Registration is open in the Town Square between 9-1 p.m. And in case of inclement weather on Saturday, the Golf Tournament will resume at 11a.m. on Sunday, June 20. • The Middle Park Fair and Rodeo will be hosting a mud slinging, heart pounding Mud Race at the Middle Park Fairgrounds from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday•Sunday kicks off with a special church service at 10 a.m. in the Town Square Park, complete with a Father’s Day Barbecue at noon presented by the Kremmling Rotary and West Grand Land Company. • Sunday winds down with a lazy run of the ducks in Muddy Creek. The Duck Race is a scholarship fundraiser for Zeta Pi Sorority.
