Kremmling West Grand Middle School club focuses on robotics
West Grand Middle School has a new 4-H Afterschool Club – Robotics. The club, self-named the Duhickymajigers, started in January with 14 members ranging in age from fifth to eighth grade. They meet once a week on Fridays at the school’s science lab.Using LEGO Mindstorm kits, the club will learn to build and program a basic robot and have fun completing some basic challenges. This work is in preparation for more advanced programming and a final year-end challenge. The members will show their work at 4-H Exhibit Day before the Middle Park Fair & Rodeo, where they will be judged on their record book, display and demonstration of their robot performing a program challenge.A long range goal of the club is to participate in the FIRST LEGO League competition later in the year.If you are interested in joining 4-H and Robotics as a member or volunteer please call the Grand County Extension Office at (970) 724-3436 for more information.
