Lady Panthers battle hard, fall

The Lady Panthers opened their season against the Classical Academy on Wednesday night.

The Panthers came out strong playing solid defense finishing the first quarter leading 9-7. Classical Academy fired back and entered halftime with a 25-17 lead, and the third quarter was controlled by the Classical Academy as well.

The Panthers came back with a strong effort in the fourth quarter, putting up 17 points, but it was not enough to get back into the game.

The Classical Academy won 58-42.

Although the Panthers suffered the loss there was much gained within the game. The Classical Academy is a strong team and the Panthers fought hard the entire game.

Moreya Gardner led the Panthers with 18 points and 3 rebounds, followed by Quincey Pedersen with 9 points, 5 steals and 2 rebounds. McCall Linke added 3 blocks, and Maddy Shipman contributed 2 assists to the effort.
