Lakewood man dies skiing in Tabernash
Search and Rescue and EMS were paged to Devil’s Thumb Ranch to assist a man, 65, who collapsed while cross country skiing at the resort in Tabernash.
According to reports, he was from Lakewood and was skiing with his daughter and son-in-law when he gasped and fell down.
Devil’s Thumb Ranch Ski Patrol got him off the trail into a sled and to the lodge where EMS was waiting, said Grand County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Lt. Dan Mayer.
He was later pronounced dead at The Middle Park Medical Center in Granby.
The name of the man has not been released.
