Larry G. Blake, 61, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2012 at his residence near Hot Sulphur Spring’s, COLO. Larry Blake was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to Georgia Faye Bolton (Gerald) and William Blake on December 23, 1951. Larry graduated from Bessemer High School and went on to work for AAA Transportation for the next 15 years.
Those who knew him personally referred to him as “Crazy Larry” due to his love of life and his very out going personality. He was an avid bass guitarist for many bands across the states and had the soulful voice of angels when he sang.
Larry Blake was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Survivors include his only child, Rachel Marie Blake Turner (Eric), two very precious grandchildren who loved him dearly, BreAnna Alexis Turner and Benjamin Blake Turner.
Brother, Ricky Bolton; Sisters, Brenda Emerson and Lisa Tork; nieces, Carrie Scruggs, Amber Emerson, Misty Emerson, Mindy Alexander, and Brandi Shaw. He also had one spouse Peggy Cain Kilgore.
Larry’s final wish was to be flown home to Alabama and have his ashes spread on the final resting place of his mother’s grave. His daughter is honored to carry out this last wish at a Private Family Memorial to be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Gardens April 4 at noon. In lieu of flowers, his daughter has please asked that family and friends make a donation in Larry Blake’s name to Alcoholics Anonymous.
