Leonard F Griesch
Leonard F. Griesch, 91, long time resident Granby, recently of Loveland, Colo. passed away quietly March 21, 2012. He was born on September 21, 1920 in Emerson, Neb. to John P. and Cassie M. (Walton) Griesch. He graduated from Emerson High School in Neb. He was a Master Sgt. in the Army stationed in France during WWII where he met his soul-mate and wife of 65 years. He married Yvonne on May 25, 1946 in Reims, France. He was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. He played baseball in the Army and later for many towns across northeast Nebraska. In 1962 they moved to Granby, Colo. where he worked as a lineman for 20 years then retired and moved to Loveland.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Yvonne Griesch of Loveland, Colo.; son, Kelly Griesch (Jodi) of Granby, Colo.; daughter, Sherry Hoffman (Gerald) of Loveland, Colo.; sister, Ruth Jepsen of Emerson, Neb; grandchildren, Matthew Hoffman (Vanessa), Ashley Hoffman, Michael Triplett; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louie Olson, Johnny, Joe, Leo, and Leroy Griesch; sisters, Esther Craig, Mildred Brooner, Betty Thiebaud.
Memorial service were held March 24 at Allnutt Funeral Service with military honors. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that a memorial contribution be made to Pathways Hospice, 305 Carpenter Rd, Ft Collins, CO 80525, in care of Leonard Griesch.
