Letter: Byron will be back to Grand County
To The Editor:
As a longtime resident I felt compelled to write a letter relating to Byron’s leaving the valley. I have only written one other letter to the editor but felt I needed to make it two. (Unlike many of your contributors who feel like they should write two a month).
When I read your paper I can always tell from the photos if Byron submitted them because he always had his own special take. Anybody can take a photo, but only a special few can really capture the experience of the moment. He always had a special extra insight in the picture with-in the photo. I have told him in the past and he knows and your readers also know this.
As we all know, someone will come along and fill his shoes and hopefully develop into a wonderful example of photo excellence that he has set.
As a longtime ski patroller I have seen many of my colleagues come and go, and they have all told me that when they went over the pass to leave they shed a tear or two! If they did not they didn’t love the valley as much as most of us do.
All I can say is you never really leave here because you will always be here whether in your memories, your dreams, your heart, or if you actually move back (which many do at some point).
When I heard he was moving to Carbondale I thought, he’s closer than he thinks! Good luck Byron, and we will see you before you realize!
