Letter: Change of leadership needed to restore trust in Grand County
To the Editor:
It is becoming increasingly clear that the public trust in our county leadership has been eroded on such a scale that nothing less than a change of leadership will restore the public’s confidence. This sentiment is shared by a growing number of Republicans, Democrats, conservatives and liberals – Grand County citizens who love this beautiful place and want to be proud of how we govern ourselves.
Ongoing discussions about corruption, nepotism and mismanagement are a serious distraction. I am thankful for the County Clerk, Assessor and Treasurer and hard-working county employees who are faithfully managing the business of the county regardless of the current atmosphere. How much longer can they be expected to operate under these conditions?
Nothing is going to change until people speak out and get involved. Take a look at the organizational chart on the county website. The “Citizens of Grand County” are at the top of that chart and WE are ultimately responsible.
