Letter: Fucik, Miller cares about quality of life
Miller cares about quality of life
I have had the pleasure to be Andy Miller’s campaign manager in the current County Commissioner’s race. Accompanying him to events across the county, I have seen him reaching out to people to hear their concerns and solicit their ideas. Andy doesn’t talk about solutions to issues in terms of “me” or “I” but rather in terms of “we”, something that is sorely missing in Hot Sulphur Springs. At the recent commissioner debate in Kremmling where the candidates were asked about their idea of quality of life in Grand County, all but Andy spoke of skiing and recreation. Andy talked about the one-in-five in this county who are under some form of public assistance and whose quality of life is defined in different terms than skiing. He cares about a better quality of life for everyone. Andy has a history of more than 40 years in the county and life’s experiences ranging from writing children’s books to building back country huts that are today a draw for citizens and tourists alike. Andy is a construction contractor (you will see his work in the pedestrian bridge at Hot Sulphur Springs and numerous river restoration projects) and a member of Fraser’s town board. Listen to Andy’s reasoned positions at the debates and you will hear this experience demonstrating itself in collaborative approaches to solve the issues facing this county. This comes from an understanding of this county, a respect for its citizens, and a love of its heritage. This county needs Andy Miller as our county commissioner. Please give him your vote.
