Thank you to the Community

The staff and volunteers at Grand Fire Protection District No. 1 would like to thank the community for their support and their attendance at our Fire Prevention Week Open House on Tuesday, October 4. Our goal was to provide valuable fire safety information, exhibit the equipment used in firefighting and give the public exposure to some of the other response and service agencies who operate in our County. We added some new elements to our fire safety education program this year including the “Smoke Crawl” and “Musical Stop, Drop & Roll.” Kids and adults alike enjoyed using fire extinguishers to put out actual fires and meeting Sparky the Fire Dog. The “Ember House” was a huge hit and very educational; showing kids and their parents how homes are vulnerable to flying embers during wildfires. The comments received from those who attended were very positive and much appreciated. See you all next year for more fun, games, prizes and of course, free food.
