Letter: Grand Lake merchant says staying open during off-season is not easy

To the Editor:

In response to Vanessa Rus’s letter: I take a huge exception to her assertion that the new signage is “misleading or false advertising.” The design committee, which is part of the Town Assessment vision, has spent much time and effort to provide our town with wording that will draw people into our Village. The Town of Grand Lake has supported that vision by providing the new signage. Personally speaking, I would love to have the problem of “mass amounts of people” during this time of year and most especially during the weekdays. If indeed you are upset with the closures, I would love for you to share your insights as to how to stay open seven days a week during our off-season and to pay staff, utilities, mortgages, etc. If indeed you come to my store and I am closed, you are more than welcome to call my cell number that is posted on the window and if available, I will come back to my store and re- open especially for you so you may shop.
