Letter: Libraries open minds to the wonders of the world
To the Editor:
When I was a young girl growing up in Hot Sulphur Springs, I lived a serenely peaceful but rurally sheltered life. The library changed that for me. Visiting the library and enjoying story hour with the amazing Carol Schroer helped me gain access to the wonders of the world outside of Grand County, and more importantly, gave me the desire and resources to become educated. This is why I’ve held the passion and shared the delight of working with children in our libraries for the past eight years.
The Grand County Library District has tried to sustain services through rough economic times. Our reserves are diminished, and we now need your support to continue providing equal opportunities for our community. Please vote yes on Referred Measure 1A. Your vote of support could make a positive difference that lasts a lifetime.
