Letter: New leadership needed to clean up Grand County’s eyesores

To the Editor:

I happen to agree with Mr. Hunter [letter to the editor, June 12].

I have lived in Grand County and Grand Lake the last 25 years. I started visiting Grand Lake in 1970.

The last 10 years Grand County and especially Grand Lake have become a major eyesore of the state. There is no excuse for letting this county deteriorate to the state it has.

Government officials are really to blame; they have the authority to clean up this county but are either too lazy or don’t care.

I think [Sky-Hi News] should have a staff member go around the county and take pictures of the major problems and put them on the front page of the newspaper and then interview the [officials] and see if we can get them to solve this problem.

Drive behind the side roads behind downtown Grand Lake and Granby. Ride a bike from Granby to Grand Lake — the side of the roads are a trash dump.

This county needs new leadership to take pride in the community and build this county to the quality it deserves.
