Letter of thanks

To the Editor:

The Colorado River Headwaters Chapter of Trout Unlimited wishes to thank everyone who came to or donated to make Riverstock a successful day of fun and river education.

This fundraiser would not be possible if it were not for our enthusiastic volunteers, local businesses who donated to the event and to all of the musicians who kept the party going from 2 p.m. to way past our 10 p.m. scheduled wrap-up time. Please thank these local businesses when patronizing them: Crooked Creek Saloon, Adventures in White Water, Winter Park Fly Fisher, Radio Shack and Jeremy Farmer/Caricature Artist. Individual donations were made by Cyndi McCoy and Cindy Kleh.

The heart and sole of Riverstock is the music. Many bands donated their time for the benefit of the Fraser and Upper Colorado Rivers. The music was so good that you will want to catch them playing other venues in the county. Thank them for helping our rivers when you go to hear them play. These are the bands: BlueCat, The Hippie Sideshow Hootenanny, Claddagh, Dr. Binger, Ms. Jessica “Love’ Jones and her amazing rappers, Gary Key with Andy Irvine and friends, Kay Irvine, Brent Sanzone and Jeremy Farmer, Greg Drumm, “Dakota”, Cole Ratzlaff, Amaurante “Amon” Montez and Adam Lyman.

We would also like to thank Colorado’s most famous fish, “Fraser,” who stayed for the entire event. To see “Fraser” on video or to learn more about the fight to save our local rivers, go to http://www.defendthecolorado.org.
