Letter of thanks for kickball benefit
To the Editor:
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to some amazing people in this community. I have been fighting Stage 4 colon cancer for the past year. People have been so good to my family during my entire battle, however on Labor Day something extra special took place.
A great group of people organized a kickball tournament to raise money for my family to help me during this difficult time. To say the kickball tournament was a success would be a huge understatement. It made my heart feel so good to see people in this community come out and have a little fun while helping my family out. There are so many people that I would like to thank, but I would need a full page ad to include everyone. So, for anyone who participated, please know that my entire family appreciates everything that you have done for us. My parents, brother, aunt and uncle and cousin from Wisconsin and Minnesota drove out just so they could be part of this special day.
They have always known that I love this community, but they all got to experience firsthand just how unique our community is. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. So, thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.
