Letter to the Editor – Girl Scouts appreciate support for food drive
To Our Generous Community of Grand Lake:I am Lindsey Miller, leader of the Grand Lake Girl Scouts Troop 3962. Over the last month the girls held Operation Girl Scout Food Drive with the goal to collect 600 non-perishable items with the help of the Grand Lake Elementary School and the community. Last Tuesday the girls collected all of the food and had exceeded their goal by over 150 items. I wanted to thank everyone who had helped the girls out in this event by dropping food off at Grand Lake Elementary School, Mt. Food Market, Circle D and at Grand Lake Plumbing & Heating. All of the items went to the food bank at Trinity Church of the Pines in Grand Lake. It was a wonderful experience to show the girls how in a small community people come together when time are tough. It also taught the girls a great lesson on how to give back to a community that supports all events. So again from Troop 3962, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this food drive a very successful event. Happy Holidays to all of you and thanks again for the local support. Girl Scout Troop 3962
