Letter to the Editor: Stand and Fight

Norm Benson

To the Editor:

I have missed two hunting seasons since 1968.

However, In response to the stupidity of the liberal Colorado Legislature, and the absolutely unconstitutional signing of these “gun control ” laws by Gov. Hickenlooper, this year my brothers and I have decided that we will no longer buy hunting or fishing licenses in Colorado, until one way or another these laws are turned over.

We are doing this in protest of the ongoing FEAR, HATE, and PERSONAL DESTRUCTION campaign being waged against law abiding, gun owning citizens of this state and nation. This malicious slandering of gun owners has been continuous since 1968.

Have no doubts, this campaign of hate has nothing to do with reducing violence, and everything to do with control of YOU, (and ME) by tyrannical liberal elitists. They control the schools, the government bureaucracy, the dominant liberal establishment mass media, the courts, Hollywood, and the labor unions.

We did not make these decisions lightly, and I know that this fall I will want to go “huntin” very badly. I am hoping that we may be able go to South Dakota, Kansas, or Iowa for pheasants.

Our little protest is not aimed at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife directly. However, they are part of the Colorado state government, and therefore they are guilty by association. The small amount that we spend on licenses and hunting will not even be noticed by the CPW, but if enough hunters, fishermen, and vacationers of all types spend their money elsewhere, maybe there will be enough economic impact to cause voters to clean out the state (and federal) lawmakers and get rid of Hickenlooper in upcoming elections. Theoretically, Obama can’t run again. I do believe he will try.

To all gun owners: Do not think that these laws will work. In all of these senseless shootings like Aurora, Sandyhook, and Columbine, all of the alleged perpetrators, either passed the background checks, or obtained the weapons illegally. The Aurora gunman could pass any background check out there, and he did. The (STATE PAID) shrink dropped the ball on that one, thanks to doctor/patient privacy privileges. I believe that he at least tried to get help. The shrink just told him, “It’s all in your head.”

Do not allow liberal politicians to tyrannize you. Vote them OUT.

JOIN the National Rifle Association. “STAND and FIGHT.”
