Letter: Vote out the Democrats
To the Editor:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances”.
Liberals and Democrats have been trying to destroy these amazing words for the last century. The U.S. Constitution is a set of rules for the government. The government doesn’t like to live by these rules. They keep telling us that the Constitution is old and doesn’t fit into modern times. When the Constitution says “Congress shall make no laws,” Democrat and liberal judges interpret that as “unless we think it’s a good idea.”
If you read the First Amendment, it is clear. The government cannot tell us where to worship, what to worship and who to worship to. That means we can pray in public places, in any government building, during any government activity, etc. They cannot prohibit the “free exercise thereof.” Also, I can criticize any government official at any time and for any reason because the First Amendment says so. They cannot force me into diversity training because I say that Obama is an incompetent fool.
We are at a dangerous crossroads. Liberals, especially Democrats, are ready to give up most of our freedoms to gain control of the government. They gladly give up our rights to free speech, the right to assemble and the right to worship as long as they get a cell phone and free birth control.
Liberals and Democrats confiscate our property through taxes and then give gifts to their voters and then call them “rights.” Conservatives know that “rights” are those endowed by God. They are not given by the government — they are ours by birthright. We are freeborn men and women.
Vote Republican, but don’t stop there. Many Republicans are no better than the Democrats. Once Republicans are elected, hound them, harass them, hold their feet to the fire. The Democratic Party is a lost cause and should be shunned by all freedom-loving people. Republicans have potential but they lose their way. We have to show them that way. That is the responsibility of citizenship.
Jefferson famously said that the “tree of liberty must occasionally be watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Water that tree by voting out the Democratic Party.
