Grand County residences and businesses experienced scattered power outages due to lightning the night of July 5 and the early morning of July 6.

The storm brought much-needed rain to Grand County but caused partial power failures from the Granby substation to the north shore of Lake Granby.

Mountain Parks Electric repaired the damaged underground line and returned power within two hours of the incident.

Outages that took place around 5 a.m. extended from Granby Ranch to City Market and took about an hour for Mountain Parks Electric to repair.

Thunderstorms are forecasted for the rest of the week for Grand County, which could bring more rain to the area.
