Middle Park’s mat men got back to work Saturday taking home a fourth place team finish, out of 13 teams, at this year’s West Grand Invitational, held in Kremmling on Saturday.

Leading the way for the Panthers on Saturday were three young wrestlers who each individually took home top honors in their respective weight divisions: Tel Linke and Jordyn Rowald. This was the second consecutive week that both Linke, a senior, and Rowald, a sophomore, have captured first place finishes as Linke’s current season record extends to 9-1.

“Tel continues to dominate his opponents in every aspect of the match,” said Brian Stuart, Middle Park’s head wrestling coach. “Tel hasn’t been scored on except in one match this season. Jordyn amazes both Coach Holmes and myself for the amount of poise he has been wrestling with.”

Running down the rest of the Panther’s roster there were several other podium finishes this weekend. Tucker Minear finished 3rd for the 106 pounders. Dustin Neal-Murphy put in what coaches called an “impressive” run to capture fourth place at 113 pounds. Ty Lange edged out his teammate Robert Graham to secure a third place finish at 120 pounds. Dylan Kloss wrestled his way to a hard fought second place finish at 160 pounds.
