Live Nation nixes Fraser festival
Festival organizer Live Nation Entertainment has cancelled plans for the Touch the Sun Music Festival near Fraser, Grand County officials confirmed Wednesday morning.
County Planner Bill Gray said Live Nation informed the county that it wouldn’t be hosting the festival on Monday evening, Feb. 8.
Gray confirmed that the cancellation was related to the Grand County Board of Commissioners’ refusal to raise the attendance cap for the festival from 15,000 to 20,000.
Representatives for Live Nation told the board during a Jan. 26 hearing that the festival would likely be cancelled if the board didn’t raise the original cap set during a hearing on Nov. 30.
