Local aerial photographer dies of cancer

Lowell Wendell Bridwell of Granby, Colo. passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his daughters, Paula Reynolds (Steve Reynolds) of Broomfield, Colo., and Michelle Bridwell (John Matthews) of Grand Junction, Colo., and son Hampton Bridwell (LJ Bridwell) of Redding, Conn. He is also survived by his brother William Bridwell (Donna Bridwell ) of Bozeman, Mont., sister Laurie Bridwell of Austin, Texas, and six grandchildren – Chelsea, Taylor and Stephanie Reynolds, Carlos Matthews, and Aidan and Charlotte Bridwell.

A life-long member of the Appraisal Institute of America, Bridwell was a commercial real estate appraiser, the owner of Bridwell and Co. Appraisers based in Denver, and Birdseye Photography, an aerial photography service. An avid pilot, Bridwell flew out of the Erie Airport for many years and also served on the Erie Planning Commission.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Broomfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart of the Mountains Hospice in Granby, CO (PO Box 1093 Granby, CO 80446 or http://www.grandcountyhospice.org).
