Local government meetings in Grand County

Grand County has a number of local government meetings scheduled for this week.

The Town of Grand Lake has both a Board of Trustees Afternoon Workshop and a Board of Trustees Regular Meeting scheduled to take place Monday May 23. The Board of Trustees Afternoon Workshop will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday in the Grand Lake Town Hall Board Room, located at 1026 Park Avenue in Grand Lake. Topics to be covered during the Workshop include presentations about the Grand Lake Center and the East Inlet Boat Ramp repair project and options.

During the Workshop the Board will consider the appointment of multiple municipal court related positions as well as multiple positions on local committees and boards to be filled by members of the Board of Trustees. The Board will also review Public Hearings and Appeal Hearings for ordinances authorizing the lease of real property and for appeals to a denied greenway application. The Board will also go over a pair of Special Event Permits during the workshop discussions.



The Grand Lake Board of Trustees will formally review, discuss and possibly take action on all of the above listed agenda items during their official Board Meeting that is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday May 23.

The Town of Granby’s Board of Trustees will hold a Regular Meeting beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at Granby Town Hall.



The Colorado River District will hold a Grand County State of the River meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday May 24 at Mountain Parks Electric, located at 321 West Agate Avenue in Granby. Prior to the meeting light appetizers will be served from 5:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. The meeting will kick off with a welcome from Colorado River District Board Director for Grand County Mike Ritschard. Bob Steger from Denver West will give an update on the Williams Fork and Dillon Reservoirs. Jeff Drager of Northern Water will give an update on the Colorado-Big Thompson & Windy Gap Firming Project. John Currier of the Colorado River District will provide an update on Wolford Mountain Reservoir and the Ritschard Dam. Ryan Lokteff with GCWIN will give presentation titled “The Hows and Whys of Data on Grand County Waters”. Eric Kuhn will wrap up the meeting with a presentation titled “What Drought? So Why is Powell Still Pressured?”

The Fraser Water/Wastewater Committee will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the Fraser Town Hall. They will discuss the plant investment fee study.

The Fraser Valley Board of Directors for the Fraser Valley Recreation District will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at Grand Park Community Rec Center.

There will be a Planning Commission meeting for the Town of Winter Park at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the Town Meeting Hall. Topics include Enhancement Grants and chicken regulations.

The Grand County Board of County Commissioners will meet at 8:30 am on Tuesday, May 24 at the Grand County Administration Building in Hot Sulphur Springs.
