UPDATE: Preliminary Granby Board of Trustees and mayor results show preference to incumbents, with one exception
Granby’s preliminary results as of 10 p.m. Tuesday for the Granby Board of Trustees and Mayor show a preference for experience. Three trustee seats and the mayoral seat were up for election this year. Preliminary results show Granby voters selected incumbent Joshua P. Hardy for mayor and Rebecca Quesada, Chris Michalowski and James Easley to serve as trustees.
Hardy and Jimmy Strickland ran for the mayoral seat while six candidates — Michalowski, Quesada, Easley, Seth Stern, Daniela Gosselova and Devon Jarrell — ran for the three trustees seats. Quesada, Michalowski are incumbents that were elected in 2020, and this would be Easley’s first term as a Granby trustee.
A total of 2,232 votes were cast for the trustee race, while 863 votes were cast for the mayoral race.
Hardy received 582, or 68%, of votes cast in the mayoral race.
“Feels really good and I appreciate the voters approving of the work we’ve been doing,” Hardy said during a phone call. “I look forward to keep moving on and continue the work we’ve been doing. It feels good to have that confidence from voters going forward.”
Hardy has served as mayor since 2020 and served as a trustee prior to being mayor.
Quesada led with 522, or 23%, of votes cast, Michalowski followed with 418, or 19% of votes cast, and Easley rounded out at third with 416, 19% of votes cast.
