Man dies at Safeway parking lot

FRASER – A man who had visited the Safeway in Fraser died in his vehicle in the parking lot around 11 a.m. on Friday.

Using CPR, a Samaritan had tried to resuscitate the individual, the identity of whom is being withheld pending notification of family, according to Fraser-Winter Park Police Chief Glen Trainor.

The man was described to be in his 60s, with out-of-state plates on his vehicle.

Winter Park Police took over CPR when they got to the scene, then an employee from Mountain Parks Electric arrived with a portable defibrillator, according to Trainor. A Grand County deputy coroner then arrived and pronounced the man dead. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
