Man installing safe at Denver-area bank crushed
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) – The Jefferson County sheriff’s office says a man installing a 1.5-ton steel safe at a south-suburban Denver bank has died after the safe slipped and crushed him.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Kelley says the man was pinned against a door, which trapped a co-worker in the room with him Thursday in Ken Caryl (carol).
Firefighters cut through a wall to reach the man and the other worker, who wasn’t injured.
The name of the man who died hasn’t been released.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
