Man wearing only T-shirt and ski pants found dead near shopping center in Fraser
A man was found dead in Fraser on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 3. The man was found wearing only a light T-shirt and ski pants, according to the Fraser Winter Park Police Department.
Emergency officials were notified about the man’s body at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday with the report of an unresponsive male laying in the snow at Grand County Road 72 near Elk Creek Drive in Fraser.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the man was deceased and had likely been laying in the snow for many hours. The temperature at the time of the call was minus 3 degrees, according to a news release from the police department.
First responders were unable to find any identification on the man; however at 11:40 a.m., a supervisor from Winter Park Resort called to report that an employee had not made it back to his employee housing unit the previous evening and had not shown up for work that morning. A photo of the man was provided, and it was determined to be the same individual.
A business in the Fraser Valley Shopping Center provided the police department video footage of the man walking on the sidewalk — in the same clothing he was later discovered in — at about 10 p.m. Tuesday. The man appeared to be intoxicated and having difficulty maintaining his balance.
The Grand County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Justan Lovvorn, 35, of Woodland, Alabama. An autopsy along with toxicology analysis will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
The case remains under investigation by the police department. East Grand Fire Department and Grand County EMS also responded to the call.
