WINTER PARK — The fall of a Minnesota man out of a condo at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge at Winter Park Resort has been deemed accidental, following a police investigation.
Andrew Engebretson, 44, of Orono, Minn., died immediately from a five-story fall from the balcony of a privately owned condo. The incident took place around 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
“All indications from the evidence at the scene indicate that this was a tragic accident where he slipped and fell,” said Fraser-Winter Park Police Chief Glen Trainor.
Engebretson was on vacation with his parents, his two children, his brother, and his brother’s daughter, who were all staying in rooms at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. The group was reported to have arrived on Sunday afternoon.
It is undetermined whether alcohol was involved in the incident as toxicology reports from the autopsy are still not complete, according to Trainor.
