Maria Teresa Cordova, 81, of Bond, passed away Nov. 3, 2011. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born June 25, 1930, in Chamisal, N.M., to Agapito and Gabriella Vasquez. She was married to Jose Delaido (J.D) Cordova in December 1951 in Chamisal, N.M.
Teresa and Delaido met as children and were married just short of 60 years. She was the loving mother and homemaker for six children, having lived through the Depression while her husband worked for the Rio Grande Railroad. They lived in several places, but resided in Bond for the last 24 years. Teresa had a strong Catholic faith.
She is survived by her loving husband Jose Adelaido Cordova; sons Bobby (Lyn) Cordova, of Palisade, Michael Cordova ( Debbie Coffing), of Fruita, and Joe Lawrence (Connie) Cordova, of Bond; daughters Porfiria ( Martin) Bania, of Arvada, and Crisitine Cordova of Glenwood Springs; and sister Delme Cordova of Chamisal, N.M.
Teresa is also survived by eight grandchildren, Justin Cordova, of Palisade, Jamie Cordova, of Grand Junction, Kreed Cordova, of Grand Junction, Kaid Cordova, of Phoenix, Michael Bania of Lakewood, Autumn Cotterall of Sunbury, Pa., and Talon and Jessie Cordova of Bond; as well as six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Gloria Cordova of Kremmling.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Mercy Cordova Cotterall.
Funeral services were conducted Nov. 8 in McCoy.

Report: Snowmobile pinned man killed in Rollins Pass avalanche
The man who died in Grand County’s most recent fatal avalanche asphyxiated after being pinned by his snowmobile on Mt. Epworth outside Winter Park, according to the final report from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
