Mayor of Fraser announces resignation
Fraser’s mayor, Philip Vandernail, recently announced his resignation, effective Jan. 3, 2024. Vandernail has served as the town’s mayor since April 2016. He submitted his letter of resignation Dec. 21.
In his letter, Vandernail states he is resigning because he is moving out of the state.
“Serving as the Mayor of Fraser has been an incredible honor, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the dedicated members of the town board, town staff, and the Fraser community,” he wrote in his resignation letter to the town. “Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and worked towards making Fraser an even better place to live, work, and play.”
Vandernail also co-founded Visit Winter Park Lodging, a nightly lodging company, in 2016.
Dear Board of Trustees,
I am writing to formally submit my resignation as the Mayor of Fraser, effective January 3, 2024. My family has decided to move out of the State of Colorado, and I will no longer be eligible to serve as the Mayor of Fraser once we have moved.
Serving as the Mayor of Fraser has been an incredible honor, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with the dedicated members of the town board, town staff, and the Fraser community. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and worked towards making Fraser an even better place to live, work, and play.
I want to express my appreciation for the support and collaboration I have received during my time in office. The commitment and passion of the residents of Fraser have been instrumental in the progress we have made, and I am confident that the town will continue to thrive under new leadership.
I am grateful for the memories and experiences I have gained during my tenure as Mayor, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of Fraser in the future.
