Middle Park Health donates to East Grand School District
Middle Park Health presented a $2,700 check to the East Grand School District at a board of education meeting Tuesday night.
The check came from funds collected during ImPACT tests conducted by Middle Park Health for student athletes.
Middle Park Health conducted these tests with students in the East Grand School District for $15, offering a sports physical along with the test, with no need to go through insurance. This deal was also offered to student athletes in the North Park School District and West Grand School District.
ImPACT tests are a type of assessment that creates a baseline for brain activity. The idea is to give doctors a reference for what a student athlete’s brain pattern looks like before a head injury occurs. That way, doctors can work to get the brain back to “normal” in the event of an injury.
Middle Park Health donated the $2,700 collected from those tests to East Grand. North Park and West Grand school districts will receive their respective checks at upcoming board meetings.
According to District Superintendent Frank Reeves, East Grand has not yet decided what to do with the funds.
