The Middle Park High School boys lacrosse team’s thrilling season came end on Friday evening at Loveland Sports Park with a hard-fought 11-4 loss to Resurrection Christian.
After falling behind early, the Panthers went down 2-6 at halftime. They battled hard in the third quarter to bring the score to 4-6. But their hopes were dashed in the fourth when they gave up five goals in a row.
In the gallant loss, Jordan Anderson had two goals for the Panthers; Simon Wilcox and Henry Waldorf each had one. Wyatt Boeckers had 3 assists, and Kasen Moon had 15 saves, according to Middle Park athletic director Scott Hicks.
With a 13-4 record on the season, the lacrosse team has improved over the past three years from 10-6 in 2023 and 11-5 in 2024. They were undefeated in the 4A Metro League this year at 7-0; they outscored opponents 206 to 99 on the season.
The memorable team was led by two senior attackmen: Boeckers tallied 58 goals and 34 assists on the year and Anderson had 46 goals and 65 assists.
